Here is a reply I wrote to a thread about DBSK in my school forum. People were criticizing a) DBSK and b) the fans who love the boys to death.

"Sure. DBSK will break up. All groups do. There isn't a banquet in the world that doesn't split up. (Whatever. Chinese proverb) But who cares? They live on in us. I'd really rather DBSK retire right now if they can lead happy, normal lives with more than 4 hours of sleep everyday. And yeah sure...Backstreet Boys is gone and I'm going to admit and declare right here that I like BSB songs more than a lot of the songs that are in on the radios right now. DBSK will OBVIOUSLY be gone. H.O.T's gone. Shinhwa's gone. But they've still got people who listen to their music. I think singers want their music to live on more than they want to immortalize their names. Honestly, there are so many old songs we know the tune to...yet don't know the singer of. Still, are these singers "gone"? No. Their songs lived on for them.

Just because you don't appreciate what artists do for their fans doesn't mean others don't and can't. I love their voices, dances, lame jokes, scary faces (did you see Micky on "happy together" trying to make Park Myung Soo laugh? SCARY.), whatever.

As much as I love what they do for us, I really wish the boys can ditch their singer lives if it means they can live normally...HOWEVER, I know that even if they step out of the entertainment world right now, they won't have the peace they deserve. Damn it. Changmin had to hide his first love (which he had when he first debuted) because he's a celebrity. Similarly, BoA got sent to Japan because her boyfriend was a SM Trainee. And that poor guy? Disappeared from SM. His dreams of becoming a singer shattered. Celebrities have all of it? No. They don't.

Life isn't easy for them. The boys fear loosing the happiness they have performing and singing together more than any fan does. They're brothers, friends, family. I wish the boys happiness.

If Jaejoong announces he's getting married right now, I'd still love him to pieces. Not only because he's gorgeous, not only because he has an angelic voice..but because he's as dorky and hilarious as he is himself. It's just like how I love Park Myung Soo too and we all know he's not too great-looking."
