Since everyone seems to be posting about their opinions on "true love" (whatever that is), I'll share my two cents on -|love|. What indeed is the opposite of love? On a number line, 1 is the number x-spaces right of 0. Negative 1, thus, is the number x-spaces left of 0. Hence, we must first define love.

What is love? Oh no. Let's not go there.

Isn't it just...feeling for, sacrificing for? Probably more complicated than that. Refer to this or this or this or this if you want in-depth definitions of "love".

So. What's the opposite? Hate? No. No. NO. Definitely not. When you hate, you feel. You feel absolute disgust and dislike. When you hate, you sacrifice. You sacrifice your braincells trying to destroy the target of your hatred. Or, you sacrifice your time and feelings by...simply hating.

(Now do you see why absolute value was used?)

Does that mean...hate is love?! Oh no. Let's not visit that either. We can do it another day when...say, Joa is coherent.

That leaves us to the conclusion that...the opposite of love is apathy! -Bows to Michael and a Soompi author- Someone got it right! And enlightened me! When you're indifferent, you don't care or feel. If you don't care (or feel), what could you possibly sacrifice?!

In conclusion, if you want to hurt someone who "loves" you, don't hate. Never hate. Just be indifferent, which is quite different from neutral. Being neutral means by-standing a war, possibly taking the side that is "correct". Being apathetic means walking away.
